About the artist:

Maevaughn Chiu's paintings draw together the many different strands of her life into abstract compositions. Memories, interests and history all bound up together with influences from an eclectic range of sources that often hold an emotional significance. Each piece combines different areas of her being. 

The experiences of travelling and living in so many different countries and cultures, both as a child and as an adult, are integral to her art and who she is.

Biography:

Maevaughn Chiu holds a BA (Hons) in Theatre Design from Nottingham Trent University (1986) and is also a trained Interior Designer.

Working first in theatre as a scenic artist and prop maker then later in the interior design industry as a decorative painter and muralist, Maevaughn has recently returned to painting and started an MFA in Fine Arts at London's City and Guilds (to be completed). She has exhibited regularly in London and her work is held in private collections in the UK, Europe and the USA.
